Cost of filtered water for drinking and cooking ...

Let us focus therefore only on filtered water for drinking and cooking water.

The cost of buying a water filter is not the important decision .... whether it costs $20, $30, $40 more pales into insignificance when the cost of running the water filter is calculated over a long period of time.

Typical water filter running costs very between about $0.09 per gallon and $0.25 per gallon.

At a rate of 2 gallons per day (remember we are talking just drinking and cooking filtered water) the annual cost could amount to between $66 and $183 per year. Over 10 years this amounts to a great deal of money.

Of course you need to compare this cost to what is valuable to yourself and family ... what price on wellness?? And certainly the cost is small compared to bottled water.
